Network Monitoring Sample Reports
Keynote NetMechanic network monitoring system monitors web sites to ensure that they are available and performing optimally 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The following sample results show servers under a variety of
conditions.
Slow Network Connection. This server is
slower than average in all categories. This could be caused by many things.
However, notice that the "Host Ping" time is significantly longer than
average. That's a good sign that this server is running over a slow
network connection. This server also seems to be overloaded, as indicated
by the large number of timeouts during our test.
Hosted At Discount Domain Service. This
corporate site
is hosted on a discount domain hosting service. Like most hosting
services, the server is well tuned, giving quick connections and a quick
response. However, notice that the Download Time can sometimes be as
high as eight seconds. Even a well tuned server can sometimes experience
bottlenecks.
Big Company, Big Problems. This well known Web site has
gotten a lot of bad press lately for its poor performance. Very high
traffic and heavy use of CGI-generated pages combine to cause problems.
The server was either offline or completely overloaded
for over an hour during our test.
